Hey, I’m Kala!
Owner, creator, designer, idea-chaser, professional overthinker, and the person responsible for most of the madness happening behind Outlaw Apparel.
I’m a Lubbock, Texas girl—born and raised—and I started this crazy little business in 2020. Did I know exactly what I was doing? Negative. Did that stop me? Absolutely not.
Everything I know about this industry has been self-taught—which basically means I’ve spent an unreasonable amount of time researching things, ruining perfectly good materials, learning through trial and error, staying up way too late, and saying, “I bet I can make that!”
For better or worse, that sentence has gotten me where I am today.
SO, WHAT DO I ACTUALLY DO?
Short answer...a little bit of everything!
Outlaw Apparel has grown into custom apparel, team gear, business apparel, embroidery, DTG printing, laser engraving, sublimation, graphic design, custom gifts, and whatever random thing I decide I absolutely need to learn this week.
But as much as I love making cool stuff, the people are my favorite part.
I genuinely love getting to know my customers and hearing the story behind what we’re making—whether it’s shirts for your business, jerseys for your kid’s team, something completely ridiculous for your best friend, or an idea that starts with: “Okay, this might sound crazy, but can you make...?”
The answer is probably “I have no idea...but let me see.” My goal isn’t just to sell you something. I want you to open your order and think:
“HELL YES. This is exactly what I wanted.” —That’s the good stuff.
THE CREW BEHIND THE CHAOS
Outlaw Apparel may technically be my business, but there’s definitely a whole crew behind it.
JASON
My husband, best friend, voice of reason (even when I don’t want to hear it), unpaid design consultant, occasional equipment fixer, and the person who gets summoned with “Babe, come look at this!” approximately 47 times a day.
We’ve been married since 2014, and I seriously couldn’t imagine doing life without him.
He’s ridiculously smart and incredibly talented. He also has one of those annoying brains where he can look at something for approximately three seconds and immediately figure out what’s wrong with it.
Meanwhile, I’ve been staring at the same damn thing for two hours.

If you’ve ever seen the motorcycles, racecars, artwork, or basically anything else he creates, you already know exactly what I’m talking about. He has an eye for things that I trust completely—even though I reserve the right to argue with him first.
DAXTON — AKA BITTY
Bitty is basically upper management around here...but his job title changes depending on the day.
Quality Control.
Management.
Inventory Relocation Specialist.
Snack Coordinator.
Professional Mess Maker.
General Supervisor of Things That Do Not Require Supervision.
He keeps things interesting around here.
And by interesting, I mean there’s a solid chance I’m looking for something that was literally in my hand five minutes ago and somehow, he knows exactly where it went.
He’s also the guy telling me how things should be done.
Management, I tell ya.
BLAZE
Blaze graduated high school in 2023 and is off doing that whole grown-up, figure-out-life thing now, so apparently hanging out at Mom’s shop isn’t nearly as cool as it used to be. But if you want to talk sports, stats, players, records, or some completely random sports fact from God knows when, though—he’s your guy.
Just don’t challenge him to a foot race. —You’ll embarrass yourself.
OUTSIDE OF THE SHOP...
My favorite place to be is with my family. I love Jesus, music, creating things, learning new skills, pushing myself to see what I’m capable of, and getting into whatever shenanigans my guys and I can find.
In the summer, you’ll probably find us at the lake. The rest of the year? Your guess is as good as mine.
We’re probably laughing, competing over something completely unnecessary, building something, breaking something, fixing something we broke, or turning an ordinary day into a story we’ll tell later.
Basically...we don't do boring very well.
SO...WHY “OUTLAW”?
Well, it’s kinda become a family thing. But it also fits me pretty damn well! I’ve never been great at doing things just because someone says: “That’s how it’s always been done.”
That sentence actually makes me want to do it differently.
I like bold. I like different. I like things with personality. I like taking an idea and turning it into something you won’t see everywhere else and I’m definitely not interested in making the same boring stuff over and over just because it’s easy.
Outlaw Apparel has grown a LOT since I started in 2020—and so have I. I’m still learning. I’m still trying new things. I’m still occasionally screwing something up and having to start completely over. And I’m still having those: “HOLY CRAP, I MADE THAT!” moments. Hopefully I never stop having those.
